The first lake is located in the southwestern part of the state near Radford Virginia. This late covers an area of 4,500 acres so it is great fishing for bass and trout. Claytor Lake has been known for its fishing for many years and has been being restocked by the DNR.
Another lake that is well known in the state of Virginia for fishing is Diascund creek reservoir, which is also known for its bass fishing and fly fishing for trout. This lake covers an area of 1,100 acres and is located near Lanexa Virginia. This lake is located in the southeastern part of the state.
Kerr lake is one of the largest lake city in the fine state of Virginia. This lake is known for its excellent bass fishing especially during the winter months. Ice fishing on this lake is also well known during the winter months because you can catch many different species of fish on this lake. This lake covers 49,000 acres of land and is located on southern border of the state. The closest town to this lake is Clarksville Virginia where you can buy all of your fish and supplies before you head to the lake.
Lake Gaston is another large wake that is home to many different species of fish and is a great lake to fish during the winter months. 
Ice fishing on this lake will be an experience like no other that you have ever experienced before and because the fish constantly bite. this lake covers 20,000 acres of land and is located on the southern border of Virginia. The closest down to this lake is Gasburg Virginia where you can get bait before you had out to do some fishing.
