KIMMER Fishing has slowed a bit for me in southwest michigan. I did well on smelt in Gull Lake 2 weeks ago, but friday night is was SLOW! Only caught 20... Pike has been hit or miss for me also. Hopefully the fishing will pick up soon.

KIMMER Ice is still pretty good on the lakes and some of the slush is gone. Fishing has still been slow around the southwest michigan lakes, with the exception of a few that have done well like Gourdneck Lake in Portage. Hopefully fishing picks up soon! Gull Lake is still producing good smelt!

KIMMER Hit Gull Lake in Richland last night for smelt. Did pretty well, 100 smelt between 3 of us with me catching about 60 of them on a yellow glow perch hali jig tipped with red or white spikes. Fished on the south bay in the pack of shanties. You can't miss them!

KIMMER I will be wrapping up my color underwater camera project that i've been working on sometime next week. I'll post a link for people to check it out. Total cost is under $225 to build and cheaper if you have a couple of the items laying around.
